Students Educated to Propagate Respect for their Environment (S. E. P. R. E.) has two factors of concentration: students, scientists and journalists from Culver City (Culver City Middle School) and Oxnard (Robert Frank Intermediate School) will employ the communication skills of Language Arts to propagate the scientific mind set and environmental concerns to the community at large rather than to allow these concepts to remain only in the classroom. We plan to effect this change through five service learning projects by S.E.P.R.E. CTAAP members:

  • Kay Alderson, Leader of S. E. P. R. E. Grant Team - Culver City Middle School Science
  • Kari Bartlebaugh - Culver City Middle School Language Arts
  • Jamie French - Robert Frank Intermediate School Language Arts
  • MaryAnn Moseley - Blue Ridge Junior High (Lakeside AZ) Science Dept. Chair (teaches environmental science, photography and journalism)
  • Hal Wasserman - Robert Frank Intermediate Science ("Teacher of the Year" - retired)
  • Jan Wasserman - Tree Swallow expert.

(Both of the Wassermans are acting as S. E. P. R. E. coordinators of the teachers at Frank Intermediate.)
